Additionally, this is the 'First Tournament of BGMI' that the company is all set to hold early. The game received a lot of support from its fans, lovers, gamers, and players across the country when BGMI launched in India on July 2. 

The primary objective of this tournament is to take powerful steps into making BGMI the biggest competitive game in India. 

It looks like Krafton is positively trying to get back into what PUBG Mobile used to be in India as BGMI, the biggest competitive platform.

Also, the company has stated that “Battlegrounds Mobile India series 2021" attempts to give a platform to the beloved players of BGMI to show their skills on the great stage.

With this Tournament announcement, Krafton insures moving times ahead for the Indian gamers. This marks is the beginning of a series of new content, collaborations, and esports tournaments with Krafton, that will be introducing next-level gaming expires in India.

How to register for BGMI Series 2021

BGMI India Series 2021 registrations started on the 19th of July 2021. The registrations will go on till 2nd August 2021. 

How to register for BGMI Series 2021

The registrations will be done in three steps, let’s look into it.

Tournament Format

The BGMI tournament series registrations are all set to start from July 19 and end around October 10 in India. This tournament is arranged in 5 stages, Besides the five stages will go on for the next three months.

Tournament Format

  1. In-Game Qualifiers
  2. Online Qualifier
  3. Quarter-Final
  4. Semi  FInal
  5. Grand FInal 

1. In-Game Qualifiers

Players who have registered for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES (BGMI Series) will have to play 15 matches with their registered team members who register before 2 August 2021.

The top 10 of 15 matches will be considered for evaluation and scored accordingly. In the case of a tie, several parameters such as finishes, survival time, accuracy, etc will be considered for qualify. 

The top 1024 teams will qualify for the next round. Registered squads can start playing 15 games from 2nd August, 12:01 AM, and have to complete their game before 11:59 PM 8th August.

At this stage, Only the first 15 matches played with registered team members shall be considered valid.

2. Online Qualifier

The Online Qualifier is divided into three rounds as mention below.

Round 1

The top 1024 squads are qualifying for Online Qualifiers will be arranged into 64 groups.

Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates and times.

The top 8 teams from each group will further qualify for Round 2 of Online Qualifiers.

Round 2

The top 512 teams are selected from Online Qualifiers Round 1, also they will be arranged into 32 groups. 

Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates. 

The top 7 teams from each group will proceed to Online Qualifiers Round 3.

Round 3

Round three same as previous rounds. Top 224 teams for Online Qualifiers Round 3 along with 32 invited teams will be arranged into 16 groups. 

Each group will have to play 2 matches each on the specified dates following which the top 4 teams will qualify for Quarter Finals.

The Online Qualifiers stage will arrange between 17 august to 12 September.

3. QUARTER-FINALS

The top 64 teams qualifying from Online Qualifiers Round 3 will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will have to play 6 matches each on the specified dates and times.

The top 4 teams from each group will additionally qualify to the Semi-Finals and the remaining teams will play in the loser bracket.

Loser Bracket

The losing 48 teams will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will have to play 6 matches each on the specified dates.

The top 2 teams from each group based on the overall standings along with 2 teams with the maximum number of finishes amongst the 48 teams will qualify for the Semi-Finals.

A total of 8 teams will qualify for Semi-Finals from the Loser Bracket.

There is one additional thing in this stage and that is a card. In this stage, there will issue Two cards.

1. Finish Card

2. Placement Card

All Teams would receive 1 Finish Card (One Star) & 1 Placement Card (Two Star) for the loser bracket.

The Finish Card will Give a Team 2X points for their total Finishes in a match.

Also, the Placement Card will Give a Team 1.5X points for their placement in a match.

4. SEMI-FINALS

16 Teams qualified from the Quarter Finals along with 8 teams qualified from Loser Bracket will be classified into 3 groups who will compete against each other in a "Round-Robin Format". 

A set of 6 Round Robins will be played by each group. The top 16 squads with the highest collective points will move towards the Grand Finals.

5. GRAND FINALS OF BGMI SERIES 2021

The top 16 Teams qualifying from Semi-Finals will play 20 matches over a time period of 4 days between 7 to 10 October. 

The squad with the highest combined score at the end of 20 matches shall be declared as the winner of "BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2021".

Eligibility Criteria

According to Krafton, players who are a resident of India and have a Platinum or above account will be eligible to take part in this BGMI Series 2021 tournament. 

Eligible players can register and take part in the in-game qualifiers (before 2 August 2021).

The company also posted a video on the official handles and YouTube channel uncovering the logo of their upcoming tournament.

The BGMI also announce on Facebook: "The stage is set. The final countdown has started!"

Earlier on Monday, Krafton announced that Battlegrounds Mobile India has excelled 34 million registered users within a week after its release.

This number was achieved only on Google Play. Even at that time when BGMI is only available on Android devices so far.
